A GROUP of charity supporters had their flowing locks cut off in aid of the Little Princesses Trust.

Eight women and five girls donated their hair to the charity in order to make wigs for children who are suffering from cancer.

The event, on Sunday at Michalea’s Hair Salon in Blackburn, was hosted by Maddi’s Butterflies, a charity in memory of Madison Allan who died on Boxing Day 2011 after a long battle with an aggressive childhood cancer.

Samantha Allan, Madison’s mother, from Lower Darwen, said: “I thought that it was a brilliant turn-out.

“They were just doing absolutely amazing things for an amazing charity. It was a great day and they were all so brave.”

Each member of the group had at least 17 inches of hair cut off at the event.

Michalea Croak, owner of salon, said: “Madison had a close connection to my family and it was good to just put a few smiles on some kids faces.

“We all really enjoyed it and it was such as good day.”
